Description
“Adventure is a path. Real adventure – self-determined, self-motivated, often risky – forces you to have firsthand encounters with the world. The world the way it is, not the way you imagine it. Your body will collide with the earth and you will bear witness. In this way you will be compelled to grapple with the limitless kindness and bottomless cruelty of humankind – and perhaps realize that you yourself are capable of both. This will change you. Nothing will ever again be black-and-white.” –Mark Jenkins

T-32 days!!!!! argh!!!!
Time to get this blog up and running again. (so you can all quit whinging! :-)) Have only one week left at work, and then it's panic stations. hehehe. Had our first aid course yesterday which seemed to go pretty well, I think I can at least now manage to put the old man into the recovery position after a few too many ciders; ....and probably more likely, he can do the same for me!
Ant has been hard at work on the bus... new shocks, new brakes (with lots of swearing) and a renovated roof rack which looks fantastic. We also now have a sexy new steering wheel after the last one broke all by itself!! We bought it (along with a hideously expensive, but gorgeous polished boss) at the Volksworld show in Sandown yesterday. Also bought some orange indicator lenses, new foot pedal covers and some brake adjustment something-or-other bungs (small bits of rubber to plug holes in metal to us girlies) but apparently worth the hour we spent trawling round the exhibitors, me with a hideous cold and a constant stream of snot pouring from red raw nostrils!
I can't work out if the to-do list is getting longer or shorter at the moment, but it certainly feels like things are getting done. I have my International Driving Permit (Ant's hasnt arrived yet!! lol) and we have both had our first round of injections, only Rabies and some Japanese Enpha.... something to go! We have booked our flights to Aus and added a couple of days stopover in Hong Kong on the return journey. Also bought a new awning on EBay recently which is much more in keeping with the bus.. i.e. its ancient, expensive, cream and brown!... perfect. :-)
